Storing Your Box

Since Japanese puzzle boxes are intricate works of art and are made from exotic woods, Here are some things to keep in mind to insure that you are able to enjoy each Himitsu Bako for many years.

Avoid areas of high humidity and high temperature. To clean, wipe the surface with a clean dry cloth. Do NOT use abrasive cleansers. DO NOT drop or allow impact to the box. NEVER force pieces to move.

Tight Panels

We take pride in our boxes and ensure quality with every order! All of our wooden boxes are expertly crafted, and so the sliding panels are sometimes a bit tight. If you find your box has a tight panel, please follow these tips.

First, please do not use your nails or anything sharp. The wood on the outside of the box is soft and will show markings if you're too rough. If you still can't get the panel to slide, you may be opening the wrong side of the box. Please close the box all the way and re-try on the other side. Once you are confident that you are opening the correct side, try using rubber gloves or something similar. This should allow you to get enough traction to open the box.

We hope these tips help! If you are still having issues opening the puzzle please reach out, and we'd be happy to help!

Thank you again for supporting our family business and we hope you enjoy the box!
