This work was produced by for the “9th Karakuri Puzzle Idea Contest and was a limited edition piece”.

The puzzle was designed by Yasuhiro Hashimoto (Tokushima) and crafted by Hiroshi Iwahara in June 2017

There are red, blue and yellow paints on a palette. The colors of the three drawers are purple, orange and green. These paints can be moved to open each drawer by mixing colors. Well, how do you open the purple drawer? The principle of the mechanism is "combination". The paints and shapes were made of wood by using a turning lathe. They were painted to express the “mixing colors."

Crafted in Cherry, Magnolia, Mizuki (dogwood), Keyaki(zelkova), Sophora Japonica, etc. and measures 136×186×84 mm.
